This category honours excellence in video content that sheds light on stories related to food sustainability. This Award category aims to recognise exceptional efforts in visual storytelling and/or investigative journalism and creative use of video. Entries will be judged on their quality, impact, innovation and creativity.
This category is open to professional staff video journalists, freelance videographers or individuals.
All entries should focus on stories and issues around the theme of food sustainability.
Individuals may submit a maximum of one entry per category.
For this category, entries must have been published, distributed or broadcasted between May 2016 and May 2017.
Materials entered under this category must have been previously distributed, broadcasted or screened on a digital news site, TV channel, film festival (or event) or an established institutional website or blog. Eligibility will be determined on a case by case basis.
Entrants must submit their individual and personal work.
Only one single video submission can be entered for this category.
All entries must be submitted in English (or translated into English).
A professional reference contact or reference letter is mandatory.
All video entries must be submitted with a description and the details of the device used to capture them.
The suggested length of work submitted for this category is no longer than 20 minutes.
Entries can be submitted from 9th January 2017 to 31st May 2017 midnight (London time).
The Food Sustainability Media Awards administrators and judging panel will have the final authority to determine eligibility of an entry.

For each of the Award’s three categories, both published and unpublished work can be submitted. Published and unpublished entries will be judged separately.
In addition, finalists in all three categories both published and unpublished will be put forward for the Best of the Web Award. The winner of this award will be chosen by the public.

This category is for outstanding photojournalism through either a single photograph or photo series on key themes or issues related to food sustainability. Entries will be judged according to effective use of photography, overall impact, composition, artistic merit and originality.
